Find LOVE this February in Virginia

Did you know that Virginia has nearly 100 giant LOVE signs located across the state? These LOVE artworks, called LOVEworks, have popped up in almost every corner of the state and we think they are the perfect addition to your Valentine’s celebration. We’ve shared a few below, but you can find the entire list here.

Whether you visit the Eastern Shore or the Shenandoah Valley, there’s a good chance you’ll be very close to a LOVEwork during your trip. You can use our interactive map of LOVEworks to start planning your Valentine’s Getaway today. Be sure to share your pictures with us by using #LOVEVA

LOVEwork at Morais Vineyards

An hour southwest of D.C., Morais Vineyards and its European-inspired atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic and easy escape. One of the few wineries in Virginia crafting Portuguese style wine, this is an age-old tradition for the Morais family and is sure to make for a memorable visit.

LOVEwork at Airlie

Just north of Morias Vineyards sits another LOVEwork at the beautiful Airlie hotel. Conveniently located just 35 miles beyond the Northern Virginia beltway in the midst of Virginia wine and horse country, Airlie offers its guests a true escape from the daily hustle and bustle. Check out their many couples packages and be sure to dine on-site at Harry’s for a “pasture to plate” three-course dinner.

LOVEwork at Ducard Winery

Ducard Vineyards is nestled on the eastern edge of Shenandoah National Park, which means it’s the perfect stop after a rewarding hike. (Pro Tip: Old Rag’s trailhead is less than 5 miles from Ducard Winery.) If hiking isn’t your forte, then you’ll enjoy mountain and vineyard views from Ducard’s patio and streamside deck while sipping estate grown wines and savoring local foods.

LOVEwork at Showalters Orchard and Greenhouse

On the western side of SNP, Showalter’s Orchard and Greenhouse is home to the Shenandoah Valley’s only cidery. Their LOVEwork is perfectly situated with breathtaking views of the Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll feel right at home at their family-owned farm while you enjoy a crisp Old Hill Cider paired with a cheese plate or hot mulled cider and a delicious apple cider donut! Winter Hours are Monday-Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm, closed on Sundays.

LOVEwork at the Market at Grelen

This lovely LOVEwork is tucked away in Orange just outside of Charlottesville in Virginia’s beautiful wine country. The Market at Grelen is a destination casual café, event venue, garden shop, and pick your-own-farm, serving up local flavors and Virginia wines alongside beautiful mountain views. (Note: The Market at Grelen is CLOSED for the winter and will re-open March 1st!)

LOVEwork in Crozet/Montfair Resort

Montfair Resort Farm is 30 minutes west of Charlottesville in Crozet and offers quaint, eco-friendly cottage rentals overlooking a small mountain lake. Plan a stay with your special someone and enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing and nearby orchards, wineries and breweries. The LOVEwork here sits on top of a hill at the entrance of Montfair and is surrounded by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains.

Also outside of Charlottesville, Veritas Vineyard and Winery’s LOVEwork is suitably made with hundreds of wine corks and is suspended over the tasting bar. Whether spending time in the cozy tasting room or outside on the deck or lawn, Veritas always offers stunning views, warm hospitality and delicious Virginia wine.

LOVEwork at Cardinal Point Winery

Just minutes from Veritas, Cardinal Point Winery also features a wine-themed LOVEwork made of used barrels. Don’t miss Cardinal Point’s 5th annual Wine Lovers 5k on February 10th for a sweet start to a fun and romantic weekend. The race starts and finishes in the vineyard and winds its way through some of the most scenic back roads in central Virginia.

LOVEwork at Peaks of Otter Winery

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains at the foot of the Peaks of Otter, this sixth generation family farm boasts many fruit trees, grape vines, creeks, ponds and majestic views. The apple you see in their LOVEwork represent their main crop, but there’s no shortage of wine to sip or apple cider and butter to enjoy.

LOVEwork in Bristol

Bristol is hailed as the “Birthplace of Country Music” so it’s no surprise the city adopted a music theme for its LOVEwork. It can be found on State Street, cleverly named for the Virginia-Tennessee border that runs right down the middle of its historic downtown. In Bristol, you’ll find yourself surrounded by live music, mountains, lakes, and numerous hiking and biking trails to choose from.
