2.016 Garden Fun Run, Norfolk
Kick off the New Year in a fun, healthy way. Runners and their families will enjoy two miles of spectacular light displays at the Norfolk Botanical Garden during the Dominion Garden of Lights annual light show extravaganza. Enjoy a Kids’ Dash, special entertainment, food, drinks and more! This run is fun for the entire family. Read more.
Annual WinterFest 10-Miler & Snowball 5K, Moneta
The 3rd Annual WinterFest 10-Miler & Snowball 5K on March 3, 2016 features a 10-mile run and 5K. Reward yourself after the race by attending an after-party with music, great food and a kid’s station. Read more.
Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend, Virginia Beach
This St. Patrick’s Day weekend event features a race distance for every member of the family, including the marathon, a half marathon, an 8k and a 26.2 yard Leprechaun Dash for the youngest members of the family. Also enjoy exhibitors and vendors and a post-race party on each day will feature live music, delicious Murphy’s Irish stew, and plenty of Yuengling beverages. Read more.
Run for the Animals, Onancock
The 5th running of the Run for the Animals Half Marathon and 5K is set for Sunday, April 10, 2016. This run is a charity event and all net proceeds support the animal organizations who serve the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Read more.
Helgramite Hustle Mud Run, Axton
On August 6, 2016 participants will take on a cross-country style 5K course with natural and man-made obstacles. Runners will run and jump through 10 mud pits, across open fields and run through the stream and woods. There will be over 18 obstacles including horse jumps, cargo nets, a stream, and a giant mud slide – not your ordinary run. Read more.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, Virginia Beach
September 3-4, 2016, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon events include a Half Marathon, 5K and Mile on the Sand. Bands dotted along the race route help to motivate runners to cross the finish line on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. A post-race headliner concert will top off a fun-filled day! Read more.
Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon, 5K, 1K and Craft Brew Fest, Hampton
October 1-2, 2016, runners will be “crawling” past the beautiful waterfront in downtown Hampton. They will make their way down the historic Chesapeake Avenue and back to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for a crawlin’ fun time at the post-race party and Craft Brew Fest. A 1K is also offered for the little Crawlin’ Crabs. Read more.
Oktoberfest and 5K Trail Race at Smith Mountain Lake, Hardy
On October 1, 2016, the 5K Trail Race/Walk will wind through the Jack-O-Lantern Branch Heritage Trail at the Booker T. Washington National Monument and end at Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest festival will include live entertainment, a children’s play area, German food and a special Oktoberfest beer brewed by Sunken City Brewery. Read more.
Annual Fredericksburg Zombie Walk
Held on the first Saturday of November at Hurkamp Park the annual Fredericksburg Zombie Walk is an opportunity to walk through downtown Fredericksburg dressed as a zombie. Prizes are given to the best Zombie costume. Put on by the Mean Mommies Club of Fredericksburg, the walk benefits local charities. Read more.
